Tails on the Trail

Welcome to Tails on the Trail! In this narrative-rhythm game, you take on the role of Johnny Blue, a young possum setting out on the Appalachian Trail to reach a bluegrass music festival. Along the way, meet a fun cast of little critter characters, learn about the culture and history of bluegrass, and play some bluegrass music yourself!

Notes before you play: Tails on the Trail is a student game that our team made over the course of six weeks. During development we had to fulfill the following requirements: It had to be for kids ages 10-11, and it had to teach them about Appalachian Bluegrass. We hope you enjoy it!  

To Play: click the link and download the file to your computer. 

Once it's downloaded, right click on the file and click "extract all." 

Finally, open the file again and double click Banjo game.exe to play.

Game Controls:
esc - pause the game

space bar - proceed to next dialogue

p - fast forward dialogue

left click - select dialogue and menu options

number keys - click to play rhythm game
